Love, Hate and Binary

I have a love/hate relationship with modern technology.

I love being able to find out anything I want to know with the press of a few buttons - but I hate that companies use that information to try to sell me things.

I love being able to be in fairly constant contact, even video calls, with family a thousand miles away - but I hate being easily tracked by anyone that knows how to follow the GPS in my phone.

I love playing games on my smartphone screen  - but I hate how easy it has become to waste time.

I don't miss being tied to the wall where the phone hung while you talked - but I sincerely miss being able to slam the phone down when hanging up on someone because I'm mad at them.

I will never be a fan of digital readers, because I'm an absolute bibliophile. I love the feel of paper between my fingers, the smell of well used pages, the odd stains where teardrops hit the page a hundred readings ago.

And yet, how handy is it to carry an entire library in a few square inches of space in your purse?

What a glorious age we live in, that we have such easy access to such a vast wealth of knowledge and entertainment!

What's your preference? And why?
